Integrating ZephyrOS Connectivity Stacks into FreeRTOS for Enhanced IoT Capabilities

Integrating ZephyrOS Connectivity Stacks into FreeRTOS was the core objective of this project. The aim was to provide a solution for a chip vendor looking to leverage Zephyr’s connectivity features, including the option to port Zephyr OS or enable its connectivity stack on FreeRTOS. Our team primarily focused on implementing the Zephyr OS connectivity stack within FreeRTOS, benefiting customers who use FreeRTOS. The main challenges involved understanding and bridging the APIs of ZephyrOS and FreeRTOS to successfully port the framework. This development enables the chip vendor to offer new functionalities, such as BLE mesh, which is well supported by Zephyr.
